James has been pursuing his interest in dermatology and skin cancer medicine over the past 12 years that he has been a GP at Pioneer Health. He is a WAGPET supervisor and is involved in training GPs, particularly in the field of primary care dermatology. James is trained in dermoscopy.

Dr James Turner

John is a local Western Australian graduate who works full time; exclusively in his special interest in dermatology. He has completed his Fellowship in General Practice and a number of advanced courses in dermatology, skin microscopy and skin surgery. John’s interests in dermatology include the diagnosis and treatment of significant skin rashes, eczema, psoriasis and acne. This includes treatment with isotretinoin (Roaccutane), immune modifiers and phototherapy. His skin cancer treatment surgery includes a range of complex reconstructions including flap surgery (‘plastic surgery’) techniques. John is proud to maintain an audit of his skin cancer diagnostic surgery, demonstrating exceptional accuracy over the past decade.

Jolmer has always had a keen interest in small procedural medicine including vasectomies and skin excisions. In the last few years, he has furthered his qualifications in this field and in 2018 he became an Accredited Skin Doctor with the Australian College of Skin Cancer Medicine. With the growing demand for good diagnosis and skin cancer treatment in the Great Southern, Jolmer has decided to focus his work at Pioneer Health on Skin Cancer Medicine. This will mean increased availability for skin checks and excisions at our practice.

JJ completed his primary medical degree and a postgraduate diploma in family medicine in South Africa before moving to Australia in 2008. He started his Australian journey in Broome Hospital, where he worked as a District Medical Officer before moving to Albany in 2011. He has completed his RACGP fellowship, postgraduate diplomas in dermatology and dermoscopy and the Master of Medicine (MMed) degree in Skin Cancer at the University of Queensland. His special interests include family medicine, chronic disease management, dermatology, skin checks, skin cancer surveillance following skin cancer and primary skin cancer surgery. He enjoys the outdoors, gardening, running and spending time with his family.

Sourabh graduated from UWA medical school in 2012. He completed part of his intern year in Albany and worked in hospital before returning to Perth to gain experience in various specialties. He has worked in Fiona Stanley Hospital and more recently at King Edward Memorial Hospital focusing on obstetrics, antenatal care and perinatal mental health. He has completed a post-graduate diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (DRANZCOG) and is currently undertaking study in children’s health through the Sydney Child Health Program. In his spare time, Sourabh enjoys swing dancing, rock climbing and scuba diving.

Dr Sourabh Joshi

Sabrina obtained her primary medical degree in Germany in 2005 and moved to Western Australia the following year. Focusing on skin health since 2020, Sabrina has completed the Membership; Advanced Surgical; and Fellowship Courses of the Australian Institute of Dermatology (AID). She also holds a Certificate in Dermoscopy with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCAA). Outside of work, Sabrina enjoys spending time with her family and friends, particularly in the great outdoors. Please note: Sabrina is currently only seeing patients with skin concerns.

Dr Sabrina MacKinley

Dr Jeroen Buis is a medical graduate from the Netherlands, where he completed his general practice training in 2004.

Recognised as a Rural Generalist through his extensive work in regional communities such as Esperance, his clinical interests include minor surgery, emergency medicine and child psychiatry. He works regularly in the Emergency Department at Albany Hospital and is part of the Albany Skin Clinic team. He has obtained the RACGP Certificate of Primary Care Dermatology and the Skin Cancer College Certificate of Dermoscopy.
